Color Your World

Are you blue? How about fire-engine red? Are your days filled with school bus yellow? Perhaps they should be. The colors of your walls are more than decoration; they can impact your mood. Painting your walls is an easy way to update the look and feel of any room. By looking at the moods different colors create, you can choose a paint color that please your eyes and your mind. To choose a paint color, start with the purpose of the room. Will it be used as a study or a room to relax with your friends? Because every color creates a different mood, after identifying what mood you want to create, the color choice will follow.

Colors and The Moods They Create:

Blue
If you need to relax, blue will do the trick, especially if painted on large walls. Anyone with a stressful job looking for a peaceful, serene home space would do well to choose blue.
Good For: study, family room

Orange
Get your creative juices going! This is a great color if you're looking to generate inspiration or want to keep young minds active. An equally good choice for playrooms and boardrooms, orange is a color for rooms where thought is the first priority.
Good for: office, children's room

Yellow
If you like to entertain and want a more festive feel, then yellow is for you. Add yellow to any room that needs a jolt of energy. Not only is it welcoming and inviting, it's also the most stimulating color.
Good for: kitchen, bathroom, dining room, family room

Red
A bold choice, and red is the color most often associated with passion and desire. Because of its strong shade, red is typically reserved for bedrooms, but it can also be used in any room that you'd like to add energy. Try a light red (pink) and add accents of darker red in carpeting or other decor.
Good for: bedroom

Neutral Colors
Sometimes, you want a room to be a blank slate for those who walk in to imagine their own possibilities, such as when selling your home. In this case, neutral colors such as white, tan, or cream with subtle accents work best. These colors will make your home feel well cared for without leaving too much of your own personality.

Consistency vs. Variety
It’s okay to change color from room to room if that’s your style. The key is to think about how you want to feel when you’re at home with your family and friends.  If you decide your style is having a variety of colors, make sure to find a fabric or artwork to help pull it all together. This will allow your home to feel cohesive.  A home that’s painted with this thought in mind, gives an impression of a well thought out design and smooth transitions. The key is to choosing a color is to decide what you want the feel of the room to be. Do you want a relaxing study or one that stimulates your thoughts?

Whether you’re looking to make a change with just your paint or a new home, feel free to visit the Jeff Benton Homes Design Studio for more paint and design tips in building your new home.

The End of an Era: New Hampton Cove Homes Almost Gone!

Hampton Cove is RUNNING OUT of NEW HOMES!!! The last single family home community in Hampton Cove, Cobblestone Cove, has been one of Jeff Benton Homes most successful and beautiful communities and we are so sad that it is coming to a close. It will be difficult to duplicate the opportunity, the lifestyle, and the atmosphere.

Cobblestone Cove
During the time
Jeff Benton Homes has been building in Cobblestone Cove we have added 167 new homeowners to our family, and have enjoyed working for each one. Today we are looking for 4 more to finish out this great community and to finish out the communities of Hampton Cove! It is a great time to purchase for a multitude of reasons.

A Special Offer
As a special thank you to our final 4 newest family members that are lucky enough to grab one of the last homes left we are excited to pay your One Year Membership to Robert Trent Jones Golf, One Year Membership to the Hampton House and we will also pay your first year of Home Owners Association Dues.

Available Homes
One of the homes that are available is our Model Home. Once sold, this home can close as early as October! We have had so many people LOVE the Model Home in Cobblestone Cove over the years and now someone is going to have the opportunity to call it home.

The Time to Buy Is Now!
Interest rates, as you know, are at an al
l time low, and a point or so on your interest rate can keep a monthly investment the same for a whole lot more house! I have often sat with customers that are astonished by how much more house they can own with a little help from the mortgage company! Let’s crunch some numbers!

Visit Cobblestone Cove
If those are not enough reasons for you, how about this one… “There’s no time like the present to improve your life!” Hope you will come see me in the Cobblestone Cove model home before the opportunity is gone!

Location, Location, Location... Is it true what they say? Well, see for yourself!

If you look up "Haven" in the dictionary, it says, " A place of refuge or rest; a sanctuary.” "Retreat" is described as "a healing vacation for the heart & soul."

I cannot think of a better way to describe The Haven & The Retreat neighborhoods at River Ridge. When you come over the mountains into the valley of Hampton Cove, you just want to say “ahhhhh.” It makes you want to relax and enjoy being home, as you take in the peace and quiet.

River Ridge is such a beautiful community, nestled in nature and the mountains. The amenities here are appealing for everyone. You have beautiful walking trails in a serene setting with nature all around you, including lots of wild flowers. There are a couple of small lakes with fish galore, and you also have access to the river that runs along the base of The Retreat part of the development. If you like to canoe or kayak, this is just another advantage to being right here.

There is a wonderful lodge-type clubhouse that is used by the community for covered dish suppers and monthly get-togethers, or anything that the homeowners want to use it for. There is also a gorgeous pool with a special area just for little ones. A new added feature in the area is the absolutely beautiful, brand-new elementary school, Goldsmith Sachs. It will open in the spring.

We hope that this community will appeal to all, and would love for future homebuyers to come and view this unique refuge. The Model Home is open Sun & Mon 1-5, Tues-Thurs 11-5, Sat 10-4, Closed Fridays.

Holiday Charity Contest Winner: Chastity Davenport & The Manna House!

The winner of our 2010 Holiday Charity Contest is Chastity Davenport of Huntsville, AL. Chastity chose the Manna House as her charity.

Chastity's winning entry: "My vote would be for the Manna House located on South Parkway next door to The Rock church. Manna House is a non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to caring for the needs of the poor and hungry of the Tennessee Valley (and beyond) as a cooperative effort that networks churches, businesses and concerned individuals. We understand that “man shall not live by bread alone,” therefore, we address the spiritual needs of individuals and families and seek to identify the underlying causes of poverty. I have been a part of The Manna House personally and truly believe that on a daily basis they improve the lives of many within our community. Please choose them as the winner not just for the money but also for the recognition of how others can donate money or time to be a part of this wonderful organization. We can work together to better our community and save lives."

Manna House is a collective endeavor of compassionate, caring people. To address the ongoing, ever-changing needs of the Tennessee Valley, it truly embraces T.E.A.M. work: (Together Everyone Achieves More.) Combined compassion creates a synergy that accomplishes more as a team than as an individual. There’s a place for YOU at Manna House.

The Manna House Food Distribution Center operates under the auspices of The Rock Urban Outreach Center, an independent entity for community transformation. It does not discriminate based on race, religion, ethnicity, or social status. We networks with H.A.P., a clearing house organization, to verify the accuracy of data submitted from applicants. Manna House also works with Angel Food, a program that provides assistance to families that need supplemental resources on a monthly basis.

Jeff Benton Homes is proud to be able to help out such a wonderful organization.

If you are interested in donating your time to the Manna House, please contact Fran Fluhler at fran@therockfwc.org.
